Nimpkish Hotel

A place to come back to.

Pros: Beautiful location. A nice room with a view over the water, like a fairytale. We had a delicious meal, a curry. Good breakfast!

Lovely hotel in a perfect location.

Pros: Location on the water, community amenities closeby and walkable, beautiful community. Excellent views from the upper rooms and the patio area is the best for quiet days relaxing with family. Also has a covered patio area for rainy days. Breakfast room was nicely stocked and clean.

Cons: Restaurant now open, but we got mixed info about how to ensure we could have a meal with limited staff on-site. We thought we had to book ahead for dinner, forgot to, made other plans, then had staff knocking on our doors asking if we wanted dinner. This is still an upgrade from previous stay when the restaurant was not open, and the food was good pub fare.

Pros: The view and location / The complimentary breakfast

Cons: More than I needed in my room but therefore it could have been a bit cleaner. It was totally fine but not super.

Cozy relaxing stay with great views

Pros: Lovely set on the water, quiet and peaceful. The top room feels like being tucked in a cozy cabin on a cruise ship, with balcony, views, light. Perfect. Hotel staff and manager were helpful and made my stay memorable. Thank you

Cons: The restaurant area iis convenient (and food was good) but could probably benefit from slightly better arrangement to make it more inviting. The outdoor area is great though

Pros: Unique experience in remote Alert Bay, with an interesting and entertaining gardener, chef and proprietor who shared her local knowledge with candour. She made our visit all the more meaningful.

Returned stay and whales spotted

Pros: We watched humpback whales from the deck. Room was large.

Pros: This was a great place to stay, the ocean views were incredible. Location was fantastic. You can walk all the way across the island and get a bite at one of the few restaurants or coffee shop.

Cons: The room was small and cozy. It's definitely an old original building. If you didn't know that going in.

Pros: Everything, the staff was good , the owner was great ! The food was amazing !

Beautiful position , lovely rooms, made to feel like friends

Pros: From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome , treated more like returning friends than new acquaintances. A stunning location . We had the quadruple room as we were travelling as a mother daughter combo A super comfy large clean room with 2 distinct sleeping areas and spectacular views . Will, one half of the owner duo was really friendly and helpful . Tina who takes care of housekeeping and is also a constant in the restaurant is a lovely young woman - efficient and friendly always helpful and with a ready laugh and smile . All 3 of the meals that we ate in the restaurant were very tasty- not a huge menu but perfectly adequate and they were happy to adapt for plant based preferences . We started by booking 1 night, then read about the island and extended to 2 . We loved the island and the hotel so much we then extended to 3 . Highly recommended

Cons: The absolutely only thing that could be improved on was the breakfast - a bigger choice of yoghurt to include plain , some berries and some nuts/seeds/ granola . A plant based yoghurt option maybe and definitely plant based milk .

Comfortable good service and food

Pros: Good complimentary breakfast including fresh baked bread and muffins. Unlimited coffee and tea 24 hours. Wonderful views. Excellent food in bar

Cons: Nothing that the owner could have influenced - traffic noise
