A brilliant, relaxing place to recharge and appreciate the beauty of Cormorant Island

Pros: I loved this place. Very relaxing. Great views. Peace and quiet. Comfy bed. Lots of books about indigenous culture. Short walk to the ecological park, shoreline boardwalk, supermarket and Orca Inn restaurant

Cons: Directions assume arrival by car. I came on foot. Access better from Walnut Road on foot.

This is an amazing place to stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Fantastic views from the deck and bedroom.

Pros: We loved the peace and quiet and the amazing views from the deck and bedroom.

Cons: I really loved the place. A kettle would be handy but managed fine without. It’s a steep climb if you don’t have a car but worth it

A lovely gem

Pros: This little cottage is a gem! It was very clean, quiet and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The location is very convenient to everything, especially the Ecological Park and hiking trails nearby. The views are superb. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Cons: Everything was great!

Pros: Love being able to see the water from deck and bedroom. Convenient location.

Cons: Hardly any parking

Pros: Location and service is all we were looking for and all we find here! Host is responsive, gives us a lot of advice for stay and places for the visit in this beautiful island. Place is clean, comfortable, with bedroom and backyard patio view that we will never forget! Absolutely must place!!!

Cons: We have to stay more than we planned

Our Christmas getaway to Alert Bay was all we hoped it would be, thanks Joe and your “manager” too!

Pros: The view was beautiful, and with weather conditions being very windy and rainy, the cottage was cozy and comfortable. The proximity to the beach, walking areas and limited shopping was perfect, as it was the Christmas holidays, and we felt like the only tourists in town! Our host was responsive to our every need as promised!

Cons: We were not aware that the only television options were streaming platforms, and many required a subscription - it would have been helpful to have a guest list of which channels were available and which were not. The heat pump remote batteries were dead; perhaps a spare set in the cottage would have been helpful, but the host was immediately responsive to bring us a new set!

Ocean view from a private place.

Pros: A quiet place with ocean view. Terrace with BBQ. Sweet black brambles around the terrace.

Cons: I would appreciate washing machine.

Great hosts - very attentive and hospitable. Very charming little house with great view and deck.

Pros: Great view, very nice and comfortable and very clean.

Cons: better cooking facilities - full stove instead of just a hot plate.

Pros: Amazing views, very comfortable bed, overall felt cozy

Pros: The unit was the perfect distance from town. A 10 min walk up the hill, easy to come and go but no one around when at the house. The balcony was super. Facing the oven and shoreline of Vancouver Island.
