Red Deer Resort & Casino

Our stay at the Red Deer Resort and Casino was all that we were looking for.

Pros: We opted for the $10 breakfast in the Casino. It was very good and the choices were ample. We had dinner in the Garden Terrace Lounge. The food was excellent and the service was very good.

Pros: Great place to stay in Red Deer, comfortable, friendly helpful staff and great food. Reasonably priced too.

Pros: Booked to attend a medical appointment next day. Wanted options for restaurants and some evening entertainment.

Cons: Only one restaurant open for breakfast before the appointment at hospital.

Very chill and relaxing

Pros: Super clean rooms and very good food! Casino was very welcoming as well. Arrived early and they accommodated my early check in and late check out as well!

Pros: Every thing was excellent The young lady that looked after our room was especially excellent.

Cons: Did not make my fortune at the casino

Great! Some issues though

Pros: Staff, beds, room size, pool facilities and location excellent

Cons: Smelt like old smoke, Hiys restaurant slow and overpriced, neve again, nothing comes free with a $62 steak, no bread or sides, first room A/C didn't work, second room AC was loud, had to turn off and neighbors had dog barking all evening. Staff did give us a discount for the troubles though, thanks!

We enjoyed our stay, enjoyed the staff, and enjoyed the bonus of the hospitality room.

Pros: We celebrated our wedding reception at this hotel 59 years ago and very much enjoyed our return visit. Checking in with Jesper at the front desk was a great experience! The hospitality room on the ninth floor was definitely a treat. The breakfast was great - so much better than most chain continental breakfasts. The hot foods were good and there was plenty of variety otherwise.

Cons: It's occasionally noticeable that the hotel is showing its age, but overall, it is well maintained and clean. The parking lot is overcrowded with casino patrons and the parking spots are small. Not a fan of boiled eggs in place of scrambled eggs.

Excellent value

Pros: Excellent value and location. The hotel staff were great. The Club Level is a great value. The breakfast hostess is the best, she took great care of us. The pool and gym are very clean. Grandkids loved the pool. Second stay here and we will be back.

Cons: I was quite disappointed with both the food and service at the Garden Lounge.

Fab 2-stop hotel

Pros: Great hotel with a good sized casino to enjoy in the 2 evenings we were staying. Hotel is old but very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities and in a good location.

Overall, though, we had a great experience

Pros: I had read a few mixed reviews before booking — some mentioned cigarette smells or air conditioning not working — but after staying here twice with my family, I can confidently say our experience was absolutely excellent both times. Our rooms were very clean, the beds were big and super comfortable, and housekeeping made sure everything was spotless every single day. The air conditioning worked perfectly for us — and if it seems off, just press the power button to restart it, simple as that. No trace of cigarette smell anywhere — not in the room, not in the hallways. This was really important for me and my family. The hotel is in a good location: just a 5-minute walk to the park, close to downtown, and really convenient to the shopping mall. The hotel also have pretty large parking. Pool and hot tub are also amazing! All in all, a wonderful and reliable place to stay in Red Deer. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back again!

Cons: The only small downside was that the windows were sweaty inside of window glasses(condensation) so you cannot wipe it away. and also the window couldn’t be opened. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s something the hotel might want to improve.
