Red Robe B&B

Pros: Swan was extremely helpful and caring, we loved the place! It is not a real B&B, so dont expect getting breakfast, but you can arrange it for yourself in the well equipped kitchen.

Nice and comfortable stay

Pros: Host was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. We loved that there was a full kitchen available, with fridge/freezer so we could refreeze our ice packs and keep our foods safe during our travels.

Comfortable, clean and homey.

Pros: Great host, very friendly, good communication in advance. The place is very clean and has everything you need. I might even say it felt homey. Amazing, highly recommend.

Pros: Lovely unit and I really liked Swan! Only disappointment was my fault (in that I made an incorrect assumption).. Other B&Bs we stayed at 5 years ago included breakfast, but I now know that it is no longer a requirement.

Great place to stay

Pros: Great place comfy bed pillows. There was a place to cook, a large kitchen area. It was central to everywhere I wanted to go. It was so easy to find I don't understand how some people had a hard time Swan was a great hostess anything you need message her she answers.

Pros: We have fantastic experience. The room was spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. Although the bathroom and kitchen were shared with other guests, we were fortunate to have the space to ourselves during our stay. The owner was exceptionally nice and helpful, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped for two people, making it easy to prepare our meals. The room had a comfortable bed and good wifi which added to our comfort. I also appreciated having a separate entrance, which offered additional privacy and convenience. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and convenient place to stay.

Cons: While the apartment is a bit hidden and not close to the city centre, it is an ideal location for trips by car.

Pros: It is run by a very nice lady, it was clean and comfortable. My only concern was that I didn't know if the whole area (big kitchen and bathroom and bedroom) was included in my rental. I guess it was as nobody else showed up. The place is very big and I would go back.

Red Robe rejoice!

Pros: We loved that once one room of the two available was booked, no other guest would be booked in, hence exclusive use of the bathroom & adjacent kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen was a bonus, allowed us to have our breakfast when we liked & to make evening meals using foods purchased at shops in the area (Walmart up the road), if we wanted to stay in after a day's touring. The separate, number pad coded entrance enhanced the privacy too. Swan was an unobtrusive but excellent host, always messaging first to ask if anything was needed. We enjoyed her informative one on one Chinese tea making demo (for longer stay tea drinking guests only though!).

Cons: We'd read that some previous guests had difficulty finding the place, so did some research first. To be fair, there is no Red Robe sign (but that helps with privacy) & the road (Yorkshire Terrace) is so short it isn't named on GoogleMaps. We thought that parking anywhere along the driveway as suggested could prevent Lloyd & Swan getting egress, though as we had just the one hire car, there was room for us to park still allowing their vehicle to get out. We're sure guests with two cars would come to an arrangement!
