Excellent relaxing little vacation. Exceptional place, Thank You to the great host - Joel

Pros: Nice and peaceful location in the middle of the mountains, Sauna is a nice benefit to the stay. Warm and friendly atmosphere, clean and cozy place to escape from reality. Great host Joel always there to help if anything needed. Highly reccomended.

Pros: Well located on the way between Jasper and Lake Louise. The sauna was definitely something to try especially with sub zero temperatures outside. They have have Starlink now which kind of removes a good post of the wilderness part of it but was definitely useful. Nice cosy atmosphere as there was only 12 of us staying there

Cons: Of course showers would have been nice, but that's part of the fun 😊

Nice option on the Icefields Parkway

Pros: Clean, comfortable, warm rooms and common area. Base for good hikes in the area. Kitchen well stocked and everything clean.

Cons: Some dorm beds are a bit short even for average height people.

Pros: Joel the warden was excellent. Quiet but friendly and efficient, helped us considerably by doing a personalized tour of the facilities and made us feel right at home.

You’ll love it

Pros: Beautiful place!! Amazing cabins, the spaces are clean and well equipped, everything you need is there. The owner is a very nice person. There’s sauna, campfire, the creek ..even Wi-Fi for most of the day. You definitely won’t be cold during the night, the heating works great. Very much recommended!

What a fun place, sauna included

Pros: Wished I would have stayed longer than one night. Sure, bunk beds are not for everyone, but the rest is worth some snoring roommates. The sauna with the river next to it to take a cold dip and the outdoor fireplace are awesome. Many fun people from around the globe to talk to, hence a great option if you are a solo traveler. Joel, the hostel keeper, is chill and friendly.

Biking Jasper to Banff? This is the perfect spot to stay.

Pros: A true wilderness hostel- we loved the wood cabins, the river nearby, the wood-fired sauna, the fire-pit… it was the perfect vibe for being in the middle of the parkway. We rode our bikes from Banff (>120km) and and a river dunk/sauna warm-up combo basically got rid of our soreness.

Cons: No showers is always a downside, but we made do with the river. We left some bags on the bedroom floor with food in them, and mice got into them in the night.

Great wilderness stay!

Pros: Had a great stay here! Basic facilities but had everything you needed for a comfortable stay! The bedroom was cosy overnight and there was a nice living room/ kitchen area for us to hang out and eat in the evening. Very scenic location and there was even a wood burning sauna which we spent a lot of time in! Afterwards you could cool off in the river nearby. There was no shower but there was running water in the kitchen so we could brush our teeth. For a cheap, overnight stay it was perfect!
