The Dorothy Motel

An excellent hotel in wonderful Banff.

Pros: Clean, ideally located and had access to the facilities of Canoe Hotel approximately 5mins away. Great value for money.

One Night in Banff

Pros: The room is large and has hooks and storage shelves, microwave and kettle. Beds are comfortable. Parking is good. Quiet, close to main Highway.

Cons: Check-in used to be self check with code to unlock door. This was convenient. Now check-in is down the road and coffee supplies handed over counter. Generally laundry bins hanging around outside.

Pros: Loved the details in the room from the art to the coffee and tea. A well done upgrade from an original basic motel. Would stay again.

Cons: It's a long walk into town but the bus pass makes it better.

Pros: The shared use of the facilities with the hotel Canoe is amazing , making a huge impact to choose it again.

Cons: The heater was very noisy... would be a good upgrade

Great bang for your buck

Pros: Was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Cutest deco and the staff were great. Check in was seamless and so was check out. Would totally stay there again.

Cons: My only complaint was the pressure in the shower. It wasn't very powerful but good enough for rinsing off.

Pros: We like the room. It is very clean and tidy. The bed is comfy, the bathroom is nice with heated floor. We like that we have a TV, microwave, small fridge and a cute coffee maker. The staffs are nice, especially Mia who checked us in and out on our stay. We also enjoyed the hot pool in The Canoe Hotel which is included in our stay. We will come back next time when we're in Banff.

Great value for an impeccable space.

Pros: My fourth stay at the Dorothy! Check-in is now across the street at The Canoe. I received not only my room keys, but also this cute pourover coffee kit with a tiny bottle of milk- too sweet! I stayed at one of the upper-floor \

Cons: I wish they used European-style bed coverings instead of these inscrutable crazy-quilt North American ones that are impossible to get back together once you've slept in them- please, just a simple comforter and no other sheets. Aside from that, no complaints.

Pros: Services and facilities are excellent. They gave use bus passes. Well run and operated. Friendly front desk. The room was clean and nice. We are happy with our stay. We also use the hot tub outside, and mountains are the view.

Cons: We are glad that they support local products, but we did not like the soap they provided. Lemongrass scent was not for us. Shampoo and conditioner were nice.

Had a great time and would come back

Pros: The easy app-based check-in, complimentary bus tickets, convenient walking distance to Banff town, modern room and furnishings, and the heated bathroom shelf were all great features

Cons: Daily housekeeping didn’t include floor cleaning, some cutlery was missing in the room, and there was hair in the shower sink from previous guests.

This is a great choice for Banff

Pros: Nice modern renovation of an older style motel. Also great to have access to the hot pools in the upmarket sister property across the road.

Cons: Everything in Banff is v expensive Also be aware there is a bit of a walk into town tho free bus tickets are provided which is great.
