The Maq Hotel

Loved Tofino, and MAQ was a great location and position.

Pros: Breakfast sandwich was good. Our view and facilities very good.

Cons: The entrance to the hotel is up a fairly long flight of steps. All the rooms are then up another staircase to the second floor, and there is no elevator. We are both over 70 and so slightly struggled to get our heavy cases to the room. There were no hotel staff to help; so I would not recommend the hotel for older people or anyone with mobility issues.

Quirky lobby and laid back vibe in the hotel. Excellent location for exploring the area. n

Pros: Staff in the bar and restaraunt are extreamly helpfull and friendly

Cons: Having to engage with the receptionist

Cool and place for location and views

Pros: Design (room and general areas), general cleanliness, room view and location.

Cons: Duvet was soiled.

Pros: Very good location. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

Cons: It was warm enough at night that I needed to open the window to keep the room fresh, which then gets a bit loud unfortunately.

A good place to stay when visiting Tofino

Pros: The communal areas are fabulous! Very comfortable, stylish and welcoming

Cons: The bedrooms are comfortable, but quite basic. No coffee maker or kettle, no fridge, but they do provide a cool box and ice.

Pros: Friendly staff, cosy room, great shower. Lovely unexpected bonuses with a free complimentary drink on arrival and 10% of the restaurant that's in the building 😊

Cons: WiFi drops out sometimes and the curtain isn't blackout so you may wake up with the sun. Didn't bother us so much as we were jetlagged!

Beautifully located, recently renovated stay Tofino

Pros: Such a great location - basically on the Tofino pier which is great to watch sunset and still walking distance to the main shopping strip. We were worried about the noise after they warned us but we honestly had no issues whatsoever, and the bed is super comfy. Ate at the pub downstairs which was great too, albeit a bit expensive. You can tell it was recently renovated and has all the amenities we needed.

Cons: Only slight criticism is that the room is quite cosy but considering the price it’s still good value. The WhatsApp message system didn’t work and there wasn’t always someone at the reception desk to help.

Hot rooms, warm staff

Pros: The staff, the café, and the decor were my favourite things. The location is also exceptional, right by the water and so close to shops and restaurants.

Cons: The room was really hot and it didn't cool down until sunset. I understand weather that warm is unusual in Tofino but we were really grateful for the fans provided.

Good location

Pros: The hotel is located on the north side of Tofino, right by the water. It was nice, clean, and even the sofa, where the 3 person had to sleep, was comfortable. There is also a free shuttle bus that goes all the way to Long Beach (a couple of times a day) that stops right opposite the hotel (seaside).

Great hotel and amazing staff

Pros: Great hotel with a fantastic location and restaurant. The staff were also brilliant and went above and beyond.

Cons: The price but it is Toffino!
