Best Western The Westerly Hotel

Pros: Was able to change the number of nights two days before

Pros: Location, breakfast buffet, Chalk Billiards and Flying Canoe right downstairs. Easy access to downtown and all amenities. Staff are courteous and helpful as well. Rooms are clean and spacious.

Cons: The lighting is the only thing I would say is the worst part. Those white, LED lights in all the fixtures cast a very cold, uninviting glow in the room. Its like fluorescent. Yuck.

Clean, comfortable and friendly.

Pros: The breakfast was great. Would be nice if it was open a little longer in the morning.

Cons: I have stayed here several times. Every stay has been great. I would like to know where I can purchase some of those pillows. I booked the room on the fly through a booking site. I was told that I could not use my Best Western points program for this. I planned to stay at this hotel, not because of the booking app. Would be nice to be able to get some bonus points.

Excellent last minute stay

Pros: Very accommodating staff. Clean and comfortable room.

Cons: More options at the restaurant for breakfast would be even better! Ex turkey bacon, more yogurts and fruit. Thank you!

Good location in Courtenay

Pros: I only stayed in the hotel one night before heading off on a photography trip. The room was spacious and the ensuite bathroom a good size. I didn't use any facilities within the hotel and checked out before breakfast, so can't comment on any food. Reception was staffed 24/7 so the early check out wasn't a problem.

Cons: Nothing, given my brief stay

Pros: Clean. Large room. Charger for my electric vehicle.

Pros: Breakfast was good, enough options, attendant was friendly.

Cons: No shuttle to the airport

It was a comfortable room. The food was ok and the staff was great.

Pros: The breakfast was ok. At least it wasn't powered eggs, they seemed like real eggs. I don't eat meat, so can't speak to that, but I liked having pancakes one day. But maybe could have had pastries (maybe I just didn't see them).

Cons: I was in an accessible room (I use a walker and a cane). The bed was great. Very comfortable and low to the ground. But, I had to talk to the general mgr about getting some more towel bars near the sink, which they took care of right away. I made my booking on Booking.com, but then called the hotel a couple of times in the weeks preceding our arrival. I asked if there was a way to not have scented laundry soap used on the bathroom and bed linens. I have a strong sensitivity to these scented products (we use unscented laundry soap, etc. at home). I was told by the front desk person that this could be accommodated and was pleasantly surprised by this. But when we got to the room, this was not the case. I was informed, by the general mgr that this was NOT possible to accommodate. So very disappointed. Fortunately, I didn't react too badly t the scent. But I should not have been told this could be accommodated. In the bathroom I didn't feel safe stepping onto (basically) a towel with not rubber backing, so we found an inexpensive one on sale at a local store and used it.

Pros: Breakfast was surprisingly good. Hot and abundant.

We had a quiet room with very comfy beds. The attached pub was a nice bonus for a late evening drin

Pros: Breakfast was tasty but more bread options would be nice...croissant or bagels

Cons: A swimming pool!
