Fabulous hotel although expensive food and drinks

Nice for a special occasion

Pros: Afternoon tea was excellent. The spa and pool area are fantastic lots of amenities. The history of the hotel on pictures on the walls is a nice touch.

Cons: The air conditioning isn’t good, our room was hot and this was October! Heater in the bathroom on constantly had to open the window. Street outside is noisy.

Fairmont but not up to standard

Pros: Checked in for a two night stay. A very imposing building. Valet parking was available and all the valet team provided great service. Our room was clean and well presented. Excellent towels. The leisure club in the basement had a very nice swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Cons: Better signage is required to navigate the one way entrance. The duvet cover on the bed was actually two sheets. I find this method unacceptable as when the sheets roll back you are touching the bare duvet. Just like hundreds of people before you.! The food and beverage at the hotel needs to be improved. The buffet breakfast is adequate at best. The bar food is awful. The oysters are poor. Getting served in the bar is difficult with team members chatting away and not focusing on the waiting customers. The hotel is branded as Fairmont but lacks the necessary standards.

Pros: This room renovations are nice. My room was very spacious and comfortable. The pool and exercise area was well equipped and comfortable. It was nice that your senior bellmen still remembered me from when I was a regular almost 15 years ago
