Royal Duke Hotel

Pros: Clean, comfortable. Close to where we wanted to walk to for the evening

Cons: On the check list, it said you had hair blow dryer. I had read the reviews where one stated there wasn't one, so I did bring my own

Enjoyable would definitely stay there again anytime

Pros: The staff were awesome so friendly and helpful the location of the property was awesome close to many amenities. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Great little hotel. Cozy and confy! Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Loved that there was a little livingroom/kitchen. So handy! Also loved that the sink/mirror were not in with the toilet and tub.

Pros: Extremely clean and very comfortable. Just because the outside appearance is not fancy and splashy....doesn't mean that the staff and the rooms are not wonderful. Cleaning staff are truly amazing!!!

We wud recommend (thanks for the heads up about the stairs). Good exercise and just one floor haha

Pros: We did not have breakfast as the restaurant was not open until 10 am. That’s past our breakfast time The hotel location was great. Other amenities available close by.

Cons: Our room #13 did not have any little tables or chairs to enjoy our coffee and sit properly to read or watch tv. We were afraid of spilling our coffee on the bed because the bed was the only place to sit. Even a folding table and chairs would have been sufficient.

We will come back. The restaurant was a bonus and great food.

Pros: Staff made the difference. Accommodating and pleasant.

This hotel met our need for our commitments in Calgary

Pros: Hotel is very old but was nicely renovated. Shower was good and the bed was very comfortable. Internet worked well. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. It was nice having a fridge and keurig. Vinyl plank floor. Close enough to Calgary to avoid much higher prices.

Cons: Room was very small and 20 stairs to get to our floor. No chair so had to sit on the bed.

Vintage accommodation

Pros: Spacious modern room in a vintage, small town hotel with good accouterments. We were pleasantly surprised.

Cons: Steep stairs are difficult for someone with limited mobility. Took several minutes to get hot water for the shower. Parking is free but limited.

Eclectic and rooted in history but with enough modern touches to feel pampered.

Pros: I liked almost everything from the moment we walked in the door. The staff were clearly a team and dedicated to making sure things ran well. More like a family than a staff. The Pub sets the tone, but upstairs is just adorable. It's newly renovated upstairs, and while it was a little DIY, that actually fits the eclectic vibe of a building from 1928. I could not stop bragging about this boutique hotel. Well done. The double room was like having two rooms because the bathroom and kitchenette were between them. Super clean, well cared for.

Cons: These aren't complaints, just nice additions: Blackout curtains for the windows would be lovely. Hooks for hand towels in the bathroom. Dish Soap for the kitchenette. Instructions for early check-out.

Pros: The location and price were excellent. Nice clean room.

Cons: The music from the eatery and bar was loud and could be heard in our room.
